Effective date: 19 October 2026, 19:00

Review date: 19 October 2027

Policy statement

The Creative Tribe Art Class is committed to respecting the privacy, dignity and preferences of all students attending classes and workshops. This policy explains how photographs and videos may be taken, used and managed within the business.

Purpose of photographs and videos

Photographs or videos may sometimes be taken for limited business purposes, such as recording class activities, showcasing student work, or promoting future classes through social media, a website, printed materials or other marketing.

Consent

No identifiable photograph or video of a participant will be used by The Creative Tribe Art Class without that participant’s clear, informed consent. Consent is optional and refusing consent will not affect a person’s ability to attend or participate in a class. Participants may make separate choices for each use below:

  • Photographs of artwork only, where the participant is not identifiable.
  • Photographs or videos that include the participant or could identify them.
  • Use on The Creative Tribe Art Class’s website.
  • Use on The Creative Tribe Art Class’s social media channels.
  • Use in printed promotional materials.

We will record the choices made and use images only for the purposes and channels the participant has agreed to. Participants can ask to update their preferences by contacting us.

Student photography and recording

Students must not photograph, film or record other students during classes without their knowledge and consent. The Creative Tribe Art Class reserves the right to limit or stop photography or recording during a session in order to protect privacy, maintain a safe and comfortable learning environment, and protect teaching materials and intellectual property.

Withdrawal of Consent

A participant may withdraw consent for future use of their images at any time by contacting The Creative Tribe Art Class at thecreativetribeart@gmail.com. We will update our records and, where reasonably practicable, stop using the relevant images and remove them from online channels that we control. Withdrawal will not affect use that took place before consent was withdrawn. We may not be able to retrieve printed materials already distributed or copies shared or reposted by third parties. We will explain any practical limitations when responding to a request.

Storage and retention

Photographs and videos collected by The Creative Tribe Art Class will be stored securely, with access limited to people who need them for the agreed business purpose. Images will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose, taking account of whether consent remains in place and whether the image is still needed for our website, social media, or promotional materials. We will not knowingly sell participants’ images or use them for an unrelated purpose without obtaining any further permission required.

Questions or withdrawal of consent

Anyone who wishes to ask questions about this policy or withdraw consent for future use of images can contact The Creative Tribe Art Class at thecreativetribeart@gmail.com.

Children and Young People

If The Creative Tribe Art Class offers a workshop attended by a person under 18, we will seek consent from a parent or legal guardian before using an identifiable photograph or video of that child for publicity. We will also take account of the child’s own views and wishes in an age-appropriate way. Consent for photography and publicity will remain optional and will not be a condition of participation. If a child or their parent/guardian asks us not to take or use an image, we will respect that request and take reasonable steps to ensure the preference is followed.
